Are Emirates About to Launch a Third Flight on Their Glasgow - Dubai Route?

Rumours abound in the industry that Emirates are looking at the possibility of adding an extra flight to their busy Dubai-Glasgow service which would bring the number of daily flights up to three. With Dubai now the most popular destination for passengers departing from Glasgow Airport and numbers expected to increase in the coming years, Emirates are looking at ways to meet the demand. The other option to putting on a third daily flight would be to deploy one of the shiny, new Airbus A380s on the route in place of the Boeing 777s currently in use. This would increase carrying capacity by about 50% from 360 to 517 passengers. It may be no coincidence that Emirates will mark the 10th anniversary of their Glasgow service on 10 April by flying an A380 on this route for the first, and quite possibly not the last, time.

The Dubai based airline will be keen to protect their market share in Scotland with Qatar Airways about to commence their Edinburgh - Doha route in May and Etihad launching a Scotland - Abu Dhabi service, thought to be Edinburgh, next year and either Glasgow or Aberdeen sometime after.

This is great news both for incoming tourism in Scotland and also business travellers and holiday makers departing for the Middle East, Asia and Australia. If all these routes are viable it should see some much needed competition in this sector and hopefully prices will be reflected accordingly.

At KinClan MPV Executive Travel we look forward to being of service to new and existing Emirates passengers and we look forward to welcoming new clients from Etihad and Qatar in the near future.

Road Journey Time between Glasgow & Edinburgh To Be Reduced By 2017

The journey time between Edinburgh and Glasgow is set to become shorter by 2017 following the announcement by Transport Scotland that four companies have been invited to tender for work to upgrade the A8 to motorway status between Baillieston and Newhouse. This will reduce travel time for passengers travelling between Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow and Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport bringing the two cities ever closer.

As well as the new section of the M8, work will also begin in 2013 to widen stretches of the M73 and M74 to three lanes completing Central Scotland's motorway network. The completed roads should ease traffic congestion between Edinburgh and Glasgow at peak times particularly the daily bottle neck between Coatbridge and Eurocentral during the morning and afternoon rush hours.

KinClan MPV Executive Travel hope that this news will allow us to offer an even more efficient and quicker transfer service in the near future between the nations two biggest cities and airport. Journey time between Glasgow city centre and Edinburgh Airport currently takes between 45 - 60 minutes and from Edinburgh Airport to Glasgow, approximately 60- 90 minutes depending on time of day.

Click here to find out more about our great value people carrier transfers for up to six passengers between Glasgow and Edinburgh or anywhere else in Scotland and the UK. For groups of four or more our rates usually work out less expensive than than travelling by public transport. KinClan MPV Executive Travel take the strees out of getting to and from the airport on time.

Emirates To Fly Twice Daily To Dubai

Emirates Glasgow - Dubai route has been so successful that from June 2012 they will be introducing a second flight. It will depart from Glasgow at 21.30 with the return service arriving in Glasgow at 20.00. With rumours circulating that both Etihad and Qatar Airways are looking to open a Scottish route, possibly to Edinburgh, it should lead to competitive pricing between the Middle East and Scotland and lead to an increase in tourist numbers from Arabia, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. We look forward to continuing to provide airport transfers to many more passengers flying with Emirates and hopefully in the future to Etihad and Qatar Airways passengers who require airport transport to/from either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport.

Edinburgh Airport Sale

Hello

KinClan MPV Executive Travel welcomes the news that BAA is to sell Edinburgh Airport, ending the uncertainty that has been hanging over it and Glasgow airport. Hopefully this will kick on investment in both and increase competition with the benefit of bringing new routes to Scotland.

One thing that this sale will certainly sound the death knell of is the often mooted 'Scottish super airport' that had been proposed for a site in North Lanarkshire or West Lothian. With BAA losing its monopoly in Scotland it makes a merged airport in the Central Belt extremely unlikely for the foreseeable future.

We hope that the passenger numbers of seven million at Glasgow Airport and nine million at Edinburgh Airport continue to grow under the new owners. We will continue to offer discounted private transfers in our executive people carriers between Edinburgh, Glasgow and all other Scottish and UK airports. Free meet and greet service, luggage porterage and complimentary water and toffees is included in our airport transfer prices.

We look forward to greeting you at a Scottish airport soon!

Regards

Greg
